Writing & editing

Kathy M. McKimmie

I've worked as a writer and editor since 1999.

After many years in government affairs for a nonprofit business organization, I was given the opportunity to head its marketing and communications department. In that role, I created a new magazine from scratch and served as its editor. That exciting experience, and the other communications roles I learned by doing, led me to start my own business.

Writing about business is a natural, but I’ve also been able to have some fun writing about what has interested me for decades, antiques and art, through feature articles and a monthly column in the largest circulation antiques publication in the country.

Over the years, I have written about health care, benefits, life sciences, wearable supercomputers, golf, education, Star Wars, pottery, insurance, wealth management, workforce, jewelry, travel, economic development and much more. I’ve also written several corporate profiles. You can find many of the feature articles I’ve written over the years by Yahooing my name, but here are a few links:

A personal project that I worked on for years is a book titled "Clay Times Three" about three Nashville, Ind., potteries, detailed on this site.  It was a finalist in the 2010 Best Books of Indiana, Indiana Center for the Book competition.
